Dangers to biodiversity

Biodiversity is something that is slowly disappearing from our world. Biodiversity means the variety of life in the world or in a habitat. Biodiversity is disappearing mainly because of these reasons below.
Pollution is a huge factor in this topic. Any chemical that was not meant to be at a habitat is called a pollutant and can cause great harm to the surrounding organisms. Humans have caused some harmful chemicals to spread around. Whether it was done on purpose or not we are to blame and something must be done to save We have already killed off so many species because of our laziness to dispose of something properly or our greed for things even though it might damage the world. We must take the steps we need to decrease pollution.
Invasive Alien Species can also be a big problem. This is when a new animal is introduced to an ecosystem. Every animal needs food, water, space, and air. To get food the new animal eats an organism that is fit for it, therefore ruining the delicate balance of the ecosystem. The situation is worse if the animal is invasive, like lion fish. Recently, the lion fish population off the coast of Florida has grown at an alarming rate. Lion fish are not native too that area but they have caused a lot of damage to the ecosystem already. Humans can help usually by eating the invasive species or by using them in products.
Habitat Loss is another problem that is causing the decrease of biodiversity. Humans mostly cause this one too. Paper comes from wood. Which comes from a tree. Which comes from a forest. In that forest there are hundreds of species. When the forest is cut down a lot of species just die, maybe some we don't even know about. Habitat loss can also be caused by climate change. In the Antarctica, animals are running out of time and space. We can actually do things to prevent habitat loss that make a difference.
Climate Change affects everyone negatively. Each animal needs a specific environment for it to thrive and grow. Climate change is one of the reasons why habitat loss occurs. When you think of climate change you must realize that it will affect you.
Human Population is growing fast. As our population grows so do our problems. Too many people and too less land. More people means more food is necessary, which means killing more animals is necessary. Many people believe that our survival is mandatory and a priority. This gives people an excuse to not care about other organisms that deserve an equal part of Earth.
An important thing to remember when you are discussing topics like biodiversity, pollution, or just any harm to animals is that humans are classified as animals. So all animals should be treated with respect whether you like that animal or not because we are animals too.
